Snowboarding as a concept began as surfing on snow which is why early snowboard shapes resemble surf boards. These decks are each historically significant in their own unique way. Together they represent a critical time period in the progression of the sport.

The Harold Hunter Foundation, based in the heart of New York City, is dedicated to transforming the lives of urban youth through the power of skateboarding. Opportunity Development
Women & Girls Initiative
A pioneering program designed to empower and engage girls at a younger age in the world of skateboarding. This initiative creates a safe and supportive space for organic mentorship between women and girls, fostering connections within the traditionally male-dominated sport.
LGBTQIA+ InitiativeHHF's LGBTQIA+ Initiative seeks to provide support, advocacy and opportunity to skateboarders in the NYC area who identify as women and/or LGBTQIA+.
Men’s Mental Health Initiative
Focusing on male-identifying skaters and their impact within the skateboard community. We host a series of workshops and events that support men’s ability to listen, learn, and become better allies and role models.

Athlete Development
Our open-enrollment outreach-based program that serves as the primary point of entry into all HHF programs, events, and opportunity. Locations of open skate clinics are posted weekly on our Instagram page.
Skate Camp Program
In our SKATE CAMP motivated teen skaters (age 14-17) participate in HHF's year-round Skate Program and are invited to our amazing week away in the mountains of NY state for a week of skating, swimming, camping, hiking, bonding, and so much more!

Career Development
Since 2022, the Harold Hunter Foundation has partnered with Google to provide free Career Certificate scholarships to skateboarders in New York City!
Grow with Google is an initiative helping people across the US and the world grow their skills, careers, and businesses by offering free tools, training, and events. They provide a self-paced, online training program that offers professional certificates in the fast-growing high-demand fields of project management, user experience (UX) design, data analytics, digital marketing & e-commerce, IT support, and cybersecurity.
The Harold Hunter Foundation supplements the resources provided by Grow With Google - which includes free post-graduate access to CareerCircle and Big Interview - with optional co-working sessions, 1:1s with HHF staff and mentors, professional development workshops, private skate sessions, and more!
